Dear Brother Burhan,ASSALAM-U-ALAIKUM,

Is their anything extra we as muslims need to do when we buy or construct a house .Ofcourse we do pray and read Quran on daily basis  and make sure the Zakat is given .Kindly Clarify

Things to do when buying a house

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person,  no grave, no prophet,  no imam,  no dai,  nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

 

There is absolutely nothing and no extra deed or ritual which a believer needs to do when buying or constructing a house;  except that one is always grateful to Allah Subhanah for his innumerable favors which He has bestowed upon man. 

 

The Messenger of Allah (saws) would recite this beautiful supplication everytime he entered his house:  “O Allah!  I beg of Thee the good of coming in (the house),  and the good of going out (of the house).  In the name of Allah we enter,  and in Allah our Lord,  we trust.”
