Praising Allah during recitation quran.

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

while performing salah when i get sneeze should i say alhumdulliah (in the process of salah) ?

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 5013 Narrated by Salim ibn Ubayd

The Messenger of Allah (saws) said: `When one of you sneezes, he should praise Allah (Alhamdolillah).

Because the rite of prayer in itself is process of Remembering, Glorifying and Praising Allah Subhanah….if one perchance happens to sneeze in one`s prayer, the declaring of the Praise of Allah (Alhamdolillah) in one`s own heart during the salah would suffice to fulfill the Sunnah.

this is the mail i got and i have doubt regarding this...so if can clarify this it would be better for me

in this u have said that one can answer to the sneeze, but while praying hw can one answer it because while offering SALAT one would be definetly reciting the verses of Glorious Quran and if one answers to the sneeze then it would be like one had recited that word(i.e alhumdullilah) in between the verse and that would be wrong ...dont u think so..plz do reply

Answer:

Praising Allah during recitation quran

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Question: …..in this u have said that one can answer to the sneeze, but while praying hw can one answer it because while offering SALAT one would be definetly reciting the verses of Glorious Quran and if one answers to the sneeze then it would be like one had recited that word(i.e alhumdullilah) in between the verse and that would be wrong ...dont u think so..plz do reply

Sahih Muslim Hadith 1697     Narrated by Hudhayfah

I prayed with the Messenger of Allah (saws) one night and he (saws) started reciting Surah al-Baqarah. I thought that he would bow at the end of one hundred verses, but he (saws) continued; I then thought that he would perhaps recite the whole (Surah) in a rak'ah, but he (saws) continued so I thought he would perhaps bow on completing (this Surah). He then started Surah Aal-i-Imran, and recited it; then he (saws) started Surah an-Nisa'and recited leisurely. Whenever he (saws) recited a Verse which referred to the Glory of Allah, he (saws) glorified Allah (by saying ‘SubhanAllah’). When he recited a Verse which tells (how the Lord) is to be supplicated , he (saws) would make a supplication.  When he (saws) recited a Verse dealing with the Protection of the Lord, he (saws) sought (His protection). Then the Prophet (saws) bowed and said: ‘Glory be to my Mighty Lord.’ His bowing lasted about the same length of time as his standing (and then on returning to the standing posture after ‘ruku’) he (saws) would say: ‘Allah listens to him who praises Him’, and he (saws) would then stand about the same length of time as he had spent in bowing.  He (saws) would then prostrate himself and say: ‘Glory be to my Lord Most High’, and his prostration lasted nearly the same length of time as his standing.’

In light of the above absolutely clear Guidance of the Messenger of Allah (saws), the declaration of Praise, or Glory, or Exaltation, or the seeking of forgiveness, or the making of supplications unto The Lord Most High during the recitation of the Verses of the Glorious Quran (even if one is in ‘salah’) is not only permissible, but a practice and a Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (saws).

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
