Answer:
Can one keep hamster
rat as pet
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.531 Narrated by Aisha
The Prophet (saws) said, "Five kinds of
animals are mischief-doers and can be killed even in the Sacred Sanctuary (in
Makkah): They are the rat, the scorpion, the kite, the crow and the rabid
dog."
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.532 Narrated by Abdullah bin Umar
Allah's Messenger (saws) said, "It is not
sinful of a person (even if) in the state of ‘Ihram’ to kill any of these five
animals: ‘The scorpion, the rat, the rabid dog, the crow and the kite."
A rat is inherently an impure animal, and the absolute
majority of the scholars and jurists in Islam are of the opinion that it would
not be permissible for a believer to keep an impure animal like a rat or a
hamster as a pet in their homes…..And Allah Alone Knows Best.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.

well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
