To say Allah hafiz a bida.

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Assalaamualaykum burhan bhai,

Jazakallahu khairun for efforts in propagating the truth..

My question is since Best of words are the Quran- words of Allah n Best of deeds are the ways of Prophet SAW. Some people say Allahafiz, Feeamaanallah, khudahafiz are bidaahs since it has no refrence from the hadiths....is it true?

please reply me soon.....

Answer:

To say Allah hafiz a bida

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Topic: Bidding Farewell to One's Relatives, Asking them for Prayers, and Praying for Them

Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet (saws) said, "Anyone intending to go on a journey should say to those staying behind, 'I commend you to Allah Whose trusts are never lost'."

It is Sunnah that the members of the family, as well as the friends and those who see the traveler off should pray for him as in the following prayer transmitted from the Prophet (saws).  Salim reported that when someone wanted to leave for a journey Abdullah Ibn Umar (r.a.) would say to him, "Come over to me so that I may bid you farewell as the Prophet (saws) peace upon him, used to bid us farewell," and that he used to say, "To Allah I commend your deen (Islam), your trust (ie. his family, those he leaves behind, and his property, etc.), and the conclusion of your deeds."'

Anas ibn Malik (r.a.) reported that a man came to the Prophet (saws) and said, "O Allah's Messenger (saws), I intend to go on a journey, so please give me provision for the journey."  The Prophet (saws) replied, "May Allah provide you with piety (taqwa)." The man said, "Give me some more provision." The Prophet (saws) said, "And may Allah forgive your sins." The man said, "Give me still more." The Prophet (saws) then replied, "And may Allah facilitate good for you wherever you may be."

Abu Hurairah reported that a man said to the Prophet (saws) "O Allah's Messenger (saws), I intend to proceed on a journey, so give me some advice." The Prophet (saws) said to him, "Fear Allah, the Mighty and the Exalted, and glorify Him on every elevated piece of ground." When the man turned away to go, the Prophet (saws) said, "O Allah, make the distance short for him, and make his journey easy for him."

A believer never loses an opportunity to Remember Allah Subhanah and make supplications for himself and his brethren.  In light of the above quoted guidance, the scholars and jurists in Islam are absolutely unanimous in their opinion that there is absolutely no harm if a believer makes a supplication for his believing brethren at the time of parting by saying ‘Fee Amaan Allah’ (In the Protection of Allah) or ‘Allah Hafiz’ (Allah is the Protector or In the Protection of Allah).

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
