Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.  (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Dear Brother Burhan, I am 27 years old male and from last 3 or 4 years( not remeber exactly) i am watching a dream like its a war field and some one i following me. i am running and many peolple are running behind me. They want to kill me and at the end of every dream i almost escaped from them. It happens with differnt forms with a differnt change every time but purpose is same, following me and i am running. In between i have other very scary dreams. Besides these dreams i had some other fears and evilish wills and i was into bad stuff.

i went to a Spiritual person ( Rohani ) and he told me that you are influenced by outter space wicked powers ( Jins) and under strong Magic. He gave me some taweez and other things to do. I thought he is kidding and i din`t follow what process he told me to break this magic. After some time once again i felt that its even more scary and i was out of life. This time i tried another person and he said the same thing. i tried another and he also said the same thing. I asked them who is doing it for me and they replied that they can`t tell and you will see them yourself. he gave me a 2 taweez and some thing to drink with water. and i taweez to burn. i did all this thing and in between the 7 day process people become to appear while i try to sleep or snoozing. they all belong to my family and i don`t really believe that they can do it. Please tell me that is this really exist that some one can hire a Magician to hurt other people and what is its solution? i use to read Surah Falaq, Surah Naas, Ayt-ul-Kursi every night. Please also tell me the meaning of this dream.

Answer:

Magic and cure antidotes

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 9.144         Narrated by Abu Huraira

Allah's Messenger (saws) said, "When the Day of Resurrection approaches, the dreams of a believer will hardly fail to come true, and a dream of a believer is one of forty-six parts of Prophetism, and whatever belongs to Prothetism can never be false."  Muhammad bin Sirin said, "But I say this." He said, "It used to be said, 'There are three types of dreams:

  1. The reflection of one's thoughts and experiences one has during wakefulness,
  2. what is suggested by the Shaytaan to frighten the dreamer,
  3. or glad tidings from Allah.

So, if someone has a dream which he dislikes, he should not tell it to others, but get up and offer a prayer.'"

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 9.168         Narrated by Abu Salama

I used to see a dream which would make me sick till I heard Abu Qatada saying, "I too, used to see a dream which would make me sick till I heard the Prophet (saws) saying, "A good dream is from Allah, so if anyone of you saw a dream which he liked, he should not tell it to anybody except to the one whom he loves, and if he saw a dream which he disliked, then he should seek refuge with Allah from its evil and from the evil of Shaytaan, and spit three times (on his left) and should not tell it to anybody, for it will not harm him."

Dear and beloved brother in Islam, if you experience any dream which is good, rest assured they are glad tidings from the Lord and you should strive to become even more obedient and more subservient to your Lord and His Commands, and be grateful for His favors and the honor which He has bestowed upon you.

If you experience any dream which is scary or frightful, rest assured that they are from the Shaytaan…you should immediately seek refuge in Allah Subhanah from its evil as soon as you wake up, recite the ‘Muawwedaat’ (Surah 113th Al-Falaq and the Surah 114th An-Naas), spit three times on your left, and should not relate the evil dream to anyone. If you have sought refuge in Allah from its evil, it will never ever be able to harm you in the least.

Your Question: Please tell me that is this really exist that some one can hire a Magician to hurt other people and what is its solution?

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 15 Surah Hijr verses 26-27:

26      We created man from sounding clay from mud molded into shape;

27      And the Jinn race We had created before from the fire of a scorching wind.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 102:

102   They followed what the evil ones gave out (falsely) against the power of Solomon; the blasphemers were not Solomon but the evil ones teaching men magic and such things as came down at Babylon to the Angels Harut and Marut.  But neither of these taught anyone (such things) without saying: "We are only for trial so do not blaspheme." They learned from them the means to sow discord between man and wife. But they could not thus harm anyone except by Allah's permission.  And they learned what harmed them not what profited them.  And they knew that the buyers of (magic) would have no share in the happiness of the Hereafter.  And vile was the price for which they did sell their souls if they but knew!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 7 Surah Aaraaf verses 116-118:

116    Said Moses: "Throw ye (first)."  So when they (the magicians) threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people and struck terror into them: for they showed a great (feat of) magic.

117    We put it into Moses's mind by inspiration: "throw (now) thy rod": and behold!  It swallows up straightway all the falsehoods which they fake!

118    Thus Truth was confirmed and all that they did was made of no effect.

Dear and beloved brother, to answer your question whether ‘Jinns’ and ‘Magic’ exist, the answer in light of the above quoted Verses of the Glorious Quran is a definite ‘YES’…..they do exist!

But whether the Jinn, or the magic of the magicians, or the combination of the two together, etc. can be used to harm one in the unseen…..the answer would have to be a definite ‘NO’; for neither the Jinns, nor the magicians, nor their magic have the power, the ability, or the authority to bring about any harm (or benefit) upon anyone in the ‘unseen’…….that Power, that Strength, that Authority is vested in Allah Subhanah, our Lord and Creator Alone!

Allah Says in His Holy Quran Chapter 35 Surah Fatir verse 2:

2        What Allah out of His Mercy doth bestow on mankind there is none can withhold: what He doth withhold there is none can grant apart from Him: and He is the Exalted in Power Full of Wisdom.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anaam verse 17:

17      "If Allah touch thee with affliction none can remove it but He; if He touch thee with happiness He hath power over all things.

Allah is our witness brother, if all the Jinns and all the magicians of the world were to get together and plot and plan to bring about any harm upon anyone, they would not even be able to damage one hair on the body of that individual without the precise Will and Permission of Allah Subhanah, the Lord of the Worlds!  Thus one should neither fear the Jinns, nor the magicians, but rather one should fear Allah their Lord, and keep their full trust and belief in Him and Him Alone.

Your Question: ……what is its solution?

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 4563        Narrated by Abu Sa'id al-Khudri

Allah's Messenger (saws used to seek refuge in Allah from jinn and the evil eye in men till the Mu'awwidhatan (Surah 113 Al-Falaq and Surah 114 An-Naas) were revealed, after which he (saws) made use of them and abandoned everything else.

If ever one fears any evil from any quarter, the guidance of the Messenger of Allah (saws) dictates that one recite the Muawwidhaat (Surahs 113 Al-Falaq and 114 An-Naas), seeking refuge and putting their complete trust and faith in the Power and Strength and Protection of Allah Subhanah Alone; it is expected that their Lord Most High will protect them from any and all evil.

There is absolutely no need to approach any supposed ‘hakeem’, or ‘holy men’, or spiritual healer, or ‘roohani’ person, etc. for they are absolute falsehoods and have absolutely no power or authority in the least!  But rather one who believes in Allah and the Last Day should fear Allah their Lord Alone, and should one find any reason to fear any harm approaching them in the least from any quarter, all one ever needs to do is recite the Muawwidhaat as often as they can or is easy for them, and keep their full trust and faith in their Lord Creator Allah Subhanah Alone; for the Lord Most High, Most Majestic Alone suffices for the believers as Protector and Helper.

Your Statement: i went to a Spiritual person ( Rohani ) and he told me that you are influenced by outter space wicked powers ( Jins) and under strong Magic. He gave me some taweez and other things to do.

The Messenger of Allah (saws) strictly forbade the believers to wear any sort of ‘taaweedh’ or amulet.   Anyone who does wear a ‘taaweedh’ or an amulet,  starts seeking his trust and help from this ‘taaweedh’,  rather than putting his full life and trust in the Lord of the Worlds!

Guidance is to worship, invoke, believe and keep one’s full and unconditional trust in none but Allah Subhanah, the Lord of the Heavens and the earth and all that exists in between!

If a believer,  who sincerely believes in Allah and the Last Day,  seeks any protection for anything in life,  all he has to do is seek refuge in Allah and supplicate Him for all His needs.    For Allah Alone is the Owner of All Strength and Power;  and no harm or no trouble can come to anyone without the permission of Allah Subhanah.   Therefore,  a believer must put his full and unconditional Trust in none but Allah Subhanah Alone.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imraan verse 160:

If Allah helps you none can overcome you: if He forsakes you who is there after that that can help you?  In Allah then let believers put their trust.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 33 Surah Ahzaab verse 3:

And put your trust in Allah Alone;  and enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 9 Surah Taubah verse 51:

Say: "Nothing will happen to us except what Allah has decreed for us:  He is our Protector";  and on Allah let the believers put their trust.

Uqbah ibn 'Amir narrates that the Messenger of Allah (saws) said: "If anyone wears an amulet (taaweedh),  may Allah not help him in fulfilling his wish.   If anyone wears a sea-shell around his neck, may Allah give him no peace."

Narrated by Ahmad and Al-Hakim.

An amulet (tamimah, taaweedkh, etc.) is a string of shells or beads that the pagan Arabs used to put around their children's necks, believing that it would protect them from the evil eye.  Islam absolutely abolished this and all other superstitious practices, rites, and rituals of falsehoods.   The Messenger of Allah (saws) called it a manifest form of ‘shirk’ and invoked the curse of Allah upon those who wore a ‘taaweedh’ seeking its protection.

It is reported from Ibn Mas'ud that once, when he entered his home, he noticed his wife wearing a knotted object round her neck.   He took it away and broke it.   Then he remarked:  'The family of Abdullah has become so arrogant that they now associate with Allah those for whom He has sent down no authority.'   I have heard the Messenger of Allah (saws) saying: 'Verily, incantations, amulets, and love charms are acts of shirk (associating gods with Allah).'   The people said: 'O Abu Abdullah!  We are familiar with incantations and amulets, but what is a love charm (altawlah)'?'  He replied: 'It is a sort of magical formula by which women sought to gain their husbands' love'." (Related by Al-Hakim and Ibn Hibban).

Imran ibn Hasin reports that the Messenger of Allah (saws) saw a man wearing a bracelet of copper on his arm.   The Prophet (saws) exclaimed to him: 'Woe be to you!'   What is this? '   The man replied: 'I am suffering from weakness (al-wahinah).' (Al-wahinah is a disease that causes pain in the shoulders and hands. The man was wearing a copper bracelet believing it would relieve his pain and suffering).  The Prophet (saws) prohibited him from wearing it because he regarded it as an amulet.   The Prophet (saws)  said:  'It will give you nothing but pain.  Throw it away.  Had you died while wearing it, you would never have achieved salvation! (ie. you would have died in the state of the unforgivable sin of ‘shirk’'" (Narrated by Ahmad)

Isa ibn Hamza said:  I went to see Abdullah ibn Hakim and his face was red due to high fever.  I said to him:  'Why don't you use an amulet?'   He said: 'We seek refuge with Allah from it.   The Messenger of Allah (saws) said: "Whoever wears anything as an amulet will be entrusted to it".  (Narrated by Abu Daw'ud)

Dear and beloved brother, all you ever need to do is put your full trust and belief in your Lord Creator, and neither approach nor listen nor follow any of the dictates of these supposed spiritual or ‘roohani’ healers, who are nothing but the epitome of falsehoods!  Keep your full trust and unconditional belief in your Lord, seek protection and refuge in none save Him and Him Alone, and remain constant in your recitation of the ‘Muawwedaat’ (113th Surah Al-Falaq and the 114th Surah An-Naas)…..Allah is our witness, Allah Subhanah Alone suffices as a Protector and Helper of those who sincerely believe in Him.

If one trusts, obeys, and follows the guidance and commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws),   one can be assured of never ever being misled;   but if one believes, obeys and follows any other guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of being led astray.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
