Answer:

Wudu and music

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Question: before reading namaz i do wudhu whilst doing wudhu and even whilst praying a thought comes into my head that i may have broken my wuhdu what can i do?

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 1.139         Narrated by Abbas bin Tamim

My uncle asked Allah's Messenger (saws) about a person who imagined to have passed wind during the prayer.  Allah' s Messenger (saws) replied: "He should not leave his prayers unless he hears sound or smells something."

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 310         Narrated by Abu Hurayrah

Allah's Messenger (saws) said:  “No ablution is necessary except in the case of sound (of wind), or the foul smell (of wind).”

Beloved brother, the principle in Islam is that one must act only on convictions, not on doubts!   Thus, only if one is absolutely convinced that one has released wind after performing wudu or during prayer,  either by hearing its sound or through its foul smell,  only then would one have to repeat the wudu and prayer again.

But if one only has a doubt that wind might have been released, or one’s stomach is making sounds,  or any other doubts in that regard whatsoever;  one should not worry about it at all,  as doubts do not invalidate one’s wudu or prayer.   Only if one is absolutely convinced that one has broken one’s wudu, he will have to redo the wudu and the prayer.

Your Question: also i wanted ask can we isten to music?

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 7.494B       Narrated by Abu Amir

that he heard the Prophet (saws) saying, "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful.”

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 3153        Narrated by Muhammad ibn Hatib al-Jumahi

The Prophet (saws) said, "The distinction between what is lawful and what is unlawful is the song and the tambourine at a wedding."

Beloved brother in Islam, if one takes ‘music’ to mean the melodious sound of the Muaddin while calling to prayer,  or the beautiful sound of the ‘Qari’ when he recites the Holy Quran,  or the musical sound of the ‘daff’ (tambourine) that is played to celebrate one’s wedding or on the Day of Eid, or the tunes of chorus sung by the mujahideen, etc.;  these are not only permitted,  these types of music are absolutely encouraged in Islam.

Thus, ‘music’ per se by itself is not forbidden in Islam; what is indeed forbidden in Islam is the illegal string music which is so rampant in conventional movies, television, radios, etc. which encourage ‘fahisha’ and indecency.

If one looks around the society we live in today, one would notice that conventional ‘music’ is related to almost every place that encourages ‘fahisha’ or indecency; and it is this concept of ‘fahisha’ and indecency that Allah has strictly declared haraam for the believers.  The principle in Islam is that every road that leads to the forbidden is also forbidden; and as illegal conventional ‘music’ is an accomplice to and leads or encourages ‘fahisha’ and indecency, it too would be considered forbidden.

Your Question: i read namaz five times a day im am 18 and were ever i go there is music i cant stop hearing if i go to college or even when i am out shopping what can do to dtop myself listen or even singing music

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 1.1  Narrated by Umar bin Al Khattab

I heard Allah's Messenger (saws) saying, "The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended.”

Beloved brother, the principle in Islam is that one would only get rewarded (or punished) for doing a deed which one does intentionally….thus if one intentionally listens to unlawful music, or visits a place with the intention to listen or ‘enjoy’ unlawful music, then indeed he will be bear the burden of his intentions and his deeds.

But if one in his heart of hearts despises unlawful music, and strives to the best of his ability to abstain in its indulgence needs or happens to go to a place like a college, or a store, or a mall, or a restaurant where unlawful music is being played; he should do his need and leave that place as soon as he possibly can….and there would be no blame or sin upon him.

But if a person intentionally visits the place, or ‘hangs’ around so that he may ‘enjoy’ or take pleasure in the unlawful music being played; then indeed he would bear the burden of his sin.

Your Question: what can do to dtop myself listen or even singing music

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 79 Surah Naziat verses 34-41:

34      Therefore when there comes the Great Overwhelming (The Day of Judgement)

35      The Day when man shall remember (all) that he strove for

36      And Hell-Fire shall be placed in full view for (all) to see

37      Then for such as had transgressed all bounds

38      And had preferred the life of this world

39      Their abode will be Hell-Fire;

40      And for such as had entertained the fear of standing before their Lord's (Tribunal), and had restrained (their) soul from lower desires

41      Their abode will be the Garden.

Dear and beloved brother, the one and only thing which would stop a person from indulging in anything which has been forbidden is to develop the fear of standing in the Lord’s Tribunal on an Inevitable and Tumultuous Day to give a full accounting of all their deeds.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
