Seeking guidance to help ourselves and others who are misguided in our community

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.  (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

dear brother

asaalamalaikum, sorry for the long question. I have read many explanations of your questions on the forum and may allah bless you all for guiding us to the right path.

I request you to answer my questions.

1. with all due respect to you and members of your forum, who have high degrees in islamic education can be afraid of death threats and having security concerns then how can common people like us who are` rightly guided ` by the forum seek courage to break from a community which practises shirk and bidaa?

2. in this stressful life where religion is getting the least priority, our community leaders profess to persecute us in only one way that is ostracising us. right? no entry to masjids, non performal of marriage rites unwilling to bury dead in their cemetry, denying children access to islamic education ,shariah proceedings of divorce and last but not the least boycotting our own kin, friends who support us rightly guided people. so, in order to stay rightly guided and allow more brethren of our community to move towards the right path, isn`t it possible to relieve the common man from the above matters so he can know people who share his own right beliefs, share his joys, his sorrows, his celebrations even if his own kin, friends and neighbours desert him? at least you and the forum memebers have each other but who will we have to turn to? after all isn`t faith above everything and anyone? there are many who are reluctant to break
for fear of being isolated, so should we lie, make excuses for not attending and avoiding ceremonies(moharram, majlis, and all bidaa ceremonies)? or be hypocrites and attend though we know it is not right?

3. so how do we integrate into mainstream society?

4.I rely on you and your forum members to help us all in finding a solution where people with similar beliefs can form a community and can leave their contacts with you so inturn you can ctc them and try to free our brethren from this life of ignorance and bidaa.

5.there are many people who read and subscribe to your forum and cud have access to recommended islamic schools(not differentiating between sects) to learn quran, namaz, and be rightly guided, mosques , rites for marriage, burial be conducted ,know whom and where to contact in times of guidance BY establishing directories for major cities and countries worldwide. most important is giving people free or at low cost access to holy quran and teachings of our messenger(pbuh) in a language which we speak and undertand besides english and who do not have access to your website

6.you could take a poll or survey on your website as to how many of our rightly guided brothers and sisters do and wud come forward to support the teachings and be guided by scholars at the forum. also anyone who has better suggestions or solutions as to how this problem can be solved and are willing to help so we can all help each other and our brethren.

please do reply soon and forgive me if I have offended you or anyone at the forum-was only seeking guidance to help ourselves and others who are misguided in our community. may Allah reward you all with the wonderful message of true islam which you are spreading. may all muslims of the world unite so there are no differnces and are guided to the path of siraat al mustaqeem. ameen.
this is only the beginning and we all have to secure the future of ourselves and our children to be rightly guided as shown by ALLAH.

Answer:

Bohra sister isolation issues

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person,  no grave, no prophet,  no imam,  no dai,  nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Question-1:  with all due respect to you and members of your forum, who have high degrees in islamic education can be afraid of death threats and having security concerns then how can common people like us who are` rightly guided ` by the forum seek courage to break from a community which practises shirk and bidaa?

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 29 Surah Ankabut verses 2-9:

2        Do men think that they will be left alone on saying "We believe" and that they will not be tested?

3        We did test those before them and Allah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false.

4        Do those who practice evil think that they will get the better of us? Evil is their judgment!

5        For those whose hopes are in the meeting with Allah (in the Hereafter let them strive); for the Term (appointed) by Allah is surely coming: and He hears and knows (all things).

6        And if any strive (with might and main) they do so for their own souls: for Allah is free of all needs from all creation.

7        Those who believe and work righteous deeds from them shall We blot out all evil (that may be) in them, and We shall reward them according to the best of their deeds.

8        We have enjoined on man kindness to parents: but if they (either of them) strive (to force) thee to join with Me (in worship) anything of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not.  Ye have (all) to return to Me and I will tell you (the truth) of all that ye did.

9        And those who believe and work righteous deeds them, shall We admit to the company of the Righteous.

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 5367        Narrated by Anas ibn Malik

Allah's Messenger (saws) said, "A time is coming to men when he who adheres to his religion will be like one who seizes live coals!"

Dear and beloved Sister in Islam, it is never easy when one who realizes, believes and declares the Truth amongst a surrounding of falsehoods; for it is in the very nature of falsehood to unleash all their might and means against the bearers of Truth!  I wish I could tell you there is an easier way, but unfortunately there is none!

Every person in the annuls of creation who sided with the Truth had to bear the brunt of the falsehood; for this is a trial that the Lord All-Wise has Decreed for those who sincerely profess belief in Him and the Last Day.

On the other hand beloved sister, the Truth of Allah and His Messenger (saws) and Islam is so powerful and brings so much contentment to the heart of one who sincerely believes, that regardless of whatever trials and afflictions the armies of falsehood break upon them, those who are sincere in the meeting with their Lord face these trials and atrocities with patience, seeking help from none save their Lord Most High.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.809         Narrated by Khabbab bin Al Arat

We complained to Allah's Messenger (saws) (of the persecution inflicted on us by the pagan Quraysh) while he (saws) was sitting in the shade of the Ka'ba, leaning over his Burd (i.e. covering sheet). We said to him (saws), "Would you seek help for us? Would you pray to Allah for us, O Messenger of Allah (saws)?"  The face of the Messenger of Allah (saws) became red (with anger) and he (saws) said, "Among the nations before you a (believing) man would be put in a ditch that was dug for him, and a saw would be put over his head and he would be cut into two pieces; yet that (torture) would not make him give up his religion! His body would be combed with iron combs that would remove his flesh from the bones and nerves, yet that would not make him abandon his religion. By Allah, this religion (i.e. Islam) will prevail till a traveler from Sana (in Yemen) to Hadrarmaut will fear none but Allah, but you (people) are hasty!’

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 1.15 Narrated by Anas

The Prophet (saws) said, "Whoever possesses the following three qualities will have tasted ‘the sweetness (or delight) of faith’:

1.       The one to whom Allah and His Messenger (saws) becomes dearer than anything else.

2.       Who loves a person and he loves him only for Allah's sake.

3.       Who hates to revert to disbelief as he hates to be thrown into a fire!"

Q-1A: how can common people like us who are` rightly guided ` by the forum seek courage to break from a community which practises shirk and bidaa?

Beloved Sister in Islam, the tools which will help you and give you the ‘power’ within to break away from a community of shirk and bida are:

  • Possessing at least the basic knowledge and understanding of the guidance of the Glorious Quran,
  • Belief with absolute conviction that the life of this world is only a short and transitory test, and the real life is the life of the Hereafter,
  • Belief with absolute conviction that on One Inevitable Day everything in creation will be recalled back to their Lord where those who believed in Him and did righteous deeds will be shown Mercy, and those who practiced shirk will deserve His Wrath, Anger and Everlasting punishment,
  • And last but not the least, constant Remembrance and supplications to The All-Knowing, All-Wise Lord to have Mercy on you, bestow upon you the wisdom and the patience to bear the trials and afflictions for the sake of the Truth, and to make your trial easy for you.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 286:

286    On no soul doth Allah place a burden greater than it can bear.  It gets every good that it earns and it suffers every ill that it earns. (O believers, thus supplicate): "O Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget or fall into error; O our Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which Thou didst lay on those before us; O Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear.  Blot out our sins and grant us forgiveness.  Have mercy on us.  Thou art our Protector; help us against those who stand against faith."

Your Question-2: after all isn`t faith above everything and anyone? there are many who are reluctant to break for fear of being isolated, so should we lie, make excuses for not attending and avoiding ceremonies(moharram, majlis, and all bidaa ceremonies)? or be hypocrites and attend though we know it is not right?

Dear and beloved sister in Islam, it is only your faith, your belief, and your complete trust in your Lord which can help you break away from the community of shirk which you were born into, and lead your life in the true service and worship of the One and Only Lord of the Worlds!

If the cost of the worship of the One and Only True Lord happens to be the loss or displeasure of one’s parents or family, of being deprived of their wealth and luxury, of being thrown out of the house or being isolated…..then we assure you sister, it is but a small and paltry price and sacrifice to pay in return for the hope of the Mercy of the Lord Most Majestic.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 9 Surah Taubah verse 24:

24     Say: ‘If it be that your fathers, your sons, your brothers your mates, or your relatives, the wealth that ye have gained, the commerce in which ye fear a decline, or the dwellings in which ye delight….. are dearer to you than Allah and His Messenger or the Striving in His Cause; then wait until Allah brings about His Decision: and Allah guides not the rebellious.

My dear and beloved sister, we assure you that all the fears that you have raised and more will all materialize, and it is only with your faith, your ‘emaan’, and your sincere belief in the Mercy and Eternal Rewards of your Lord Most Gracious which we assure you will offset every single loss and sacrifice you make for Your Lord, His Messenger (saws) and the Striving in Allah’s Cause.

The Messenger of Allah (saws) said: ‘The Reward with Allah is expensive! The Reward with Allah is Paradise!”

My dear and beloved sister in Islam, if you have indeed made your mission and destination the Mercy and Eternal Rewards of your Lord, then be aware that the path that leads to this Noble Destination is nothing but self-sacrifice!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 9 Surah Taubah verse 111:

111    Allah has purchased from the believers their ‘lives’ and their ‘wealth’, for theirs (in return) is the Garden (of Paradise): ……  Then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded (with Allah): that is the Achievement Supreme!

Your Question-3: so how do we integrate into mainstream society?

Dear and beloved sister, the community of shirk which you wish to leave comprises of only about a million souls; but Praise be to Allah Subhanah, the community or Ummah of believers is almost two-billion!

As much as your close family and friends who persist in their belief of falsehood wish to put emotional pressure on you and isolate you, we assure you that the believing Ummah will welcome you with open arms!  Allah is our witness sister, you may enter into any of the masjids of the believers, and they will wholeheartedly guide you, arrange for your marriage and burial rites, arrange for yours and your children’s religious education, etc.  We assure you beloved sister from experience that these simple rites which are used by the unscrupulous ‘holy’ men of the sect to bind their followers are absolute non-issues in the Ummah of two-billion believers!  Allah is our witness sisters, not only will you get all the help you need from the believers of the  mainstream society, they will honor you every step of the way.

Your Question-4: I rely on you and your forum members to help us all in finding a solution where people with similar beliefs can form a community and can leave their contacts with you so inturn you can ctc them and try to free our brethren from this life of ignorance and bidaa.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 23 Surah Mu’minoon verse 52-55:

And you all belong to one and the same Ummah, and I (Allah) am your Lord; so fear Me Alone!  Yet afterwards the people divided themselves into different sects, and each sect rejoicing in what it has.  Well, leave them deeply involved in their heedlessness up to an appointed time.  What?  Do they think that, by continuing to provide them with wealth and children, We are solicitous for their welfare?  Nay, they do not understand the reality of the matter!

Dear and beloved sister in Islam, the absolutely last thing one should strive to do is leave one sect only to invent another!

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 171         Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr

That Allah's Messenger (saws) said: “There will befall my Ummah exactly all those evils which befell the people of Israel (Jews and Christians),  so much so that if there was one amongst them who openly committed fornication with his mother, there will be amongst  my Ummah one,  who will do the same.   And if the people of Israel were fragmented into seventy-two sects,  my Ummah will be fragmented into seventy-three sects.   All of them will be in Hell Fire except one sect.”   The noble Companions asked: “O Allah's Messenger (saws), which one is that?”    Whereupon he (saws)  said: “It is one to which I and my companions belong.”

Dear and beloved sister, if and when you decide to leave the community of shirk and bida, leave it only to join the Ummah of the believers united in the worship of their One and Only True Lord.

What we as your brothers and sincere well-wishers in faith can and will do Insha Allah is if you tell us in which country and city you reside, we will get some good, righteous, God-fearing and pious brothers and sisters to get in touch with you to help you assimilate in the mainstream Ummah.  These brothers and sisters all over the world have dedicated their lives in selflessly serving and helping the Cause and they lie in search for every opportunity to honor and help those who sincerely seek to make Islam their way of life.

Our sincere and humble advice to you sister is to simply meet with these slave-servants of Allah and then decide your course of action.  Regardless of which country or city you may reside in, know with assurance and conviction that your brothers and your sisters in faith are ever ready to help you for the sake of Allah Subhanah and His Cause Alone.

Your Question-5: there are many people who read and subscribe to your forum and cud have access to recommended islamic schools(not differentiating between sects) to learn quran, namaz, and be rightly guided, mosques, rites for marriage, burial be conducted ,know whom and where to contact in times of guidance BY establishing directories for major cities and countries worldwide. most important is giving people free or at low cost access to holy quran and teachings of our messenger(pbuh) in a language which we speak and undertand besides english and who do not have access to your website.

My dear and beloved sister in Islam, we assure you in the name of Allah Subhanah that all your above concerns are absolute non-issues in the mainstream believing Ummah!  In every corner of the world there are brothers and sisters waiting for an opportunity to welcome reverts to the Truth of Allah, and I assure you from experience that they will leave no stone unturned in helping you assimilate in the believing community.  Leave alone low cost, we assure you that these helpers in the Cause of Allah will arrange to provide every assistance absolutely free of cost and without any obligation whatsoever in whatever language you may require, Insha Allah.  We assure you sister that the only thing these brothers and sisters seek for their selfless striving in the Cause of Allah is His Good Will and His Pleasure.

Learning the prayers, the simple rites and rituals of worship, the mosques, the marriage, the burial, etc. which are propagated and held as ransom by the unscrupulous communities of shirk are absolute non-issues in the Ummah of mainstream believers.  Not only do they teach and perform these simple rites needed for one to live their life, these humble slaves and helpers of Allah do so with absolute humility and with honor.

Your Question-6: you could take a poll or survey on your website as to how many of our rightly guided brothers and sisters do and wud come forward to support the teachings and be guided by scholars at the forum.

also anyone who has better suggestions or solutions as to how this problem can be solved and are willing to help so we can all help each other and our brethren.

Dear and beloved sister in Islam, our humble forum is but a small and insignificant link in the event of chains that helps one assimilate in the believing Ummah.  The real strivers and (if I may say so) heroes are those brothers and sisters on the field in every corner of Allah’s earth who selflessly serve their entire life in the service of Allah’s Cause.

Beloved sister in Islam, I assure you again in the Blessed Name of Allah that assimilating yourself with the believing Ummah is an absolute non-issue and The Lord Most Gracious Who has guided you to the Truth has made arrangements to make His Deen available easily to those who seek to follow the Straight Path.

What none except you can solve is the burden of the emotional pressure that you may or may not receive at the hands of your loved ones!  If your faith and belief in the hope of the Mercy of your Lord can overcome that one burden, every other issue of assimilation with the believing Ummah is a ‘walk in the park’!  It may well be that one day you yourself become one of those who help other brothers and sisters who wish to tread the Straight Path for the Sake of Allah Subhanah.

Your Question: please do reply soon and forgive me if I have offended you or anyone at the forum-was only seeking guidance to help ourselves and others who are misguided in our community.

My dear and beloved sister, Allah is our witness, you have honored us by posing these issues to us and if we have been or can be of any help whatsoever in fulfilling your desire to worship none but the One and Only True Lord Who Created, Allah is our witness, we would consider ourselves to be the most fortunate amongst all mankind for having been given this opportunity by our Lord Most Gracious to serve in His Noble Cause.

Allah is our witness sister, it is you who has favored and honored your humble brothers and sisters of this forum, for if our insignificant and weak efforts has played even the minutest role in helping even one soul move away from a life of shirk and bida toward the concept of the Truth of Tawheed or the Supreme Oneness of The Lord Most High, we would consider our prayers to our Lord to allow us to serve in His Cause would be deemed accepted.

All we ask of you sister is that when you make supplications to your Lord for yourself, spare a humble moment for us, your brothers and sisters of this humble forum, and beseech The Lord Most Gracious to forgive us our innumerable sins and our severe short-comings in the service of His Cause, have Mercy upon us, and save us all from the torment of the Hell Fire.  Your this one supplication for us would be more valuable to us than everything that exists on this earth.

We await further notice and instructions from you in order to activate the brothers and sisters in your locality who will help you assimilate you in the believing Ummah so that you too may join the congregation of believers who worship and serve none save the One and Only True Lord of the Universe, Allah Subhanah wa Taala Alone.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
