Will there be a period of time where there will be peace between all the people of the world?

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.  (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Will there be a period of time where there will be peace between all the people of the world? A state of paradise on earth with equality peace and compassion between all the people? Will all the people then be muslims ? And last, is imam mahdi and Isa Masi the one and same person ?

Please anser my question. May Allah Subhanuh wa Taalah reward you for this Inshallah.

Answer:

Will there be peace on earth?

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person,  no grave, no prophet,  no imam,  no dai,  nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Question: Will there be a period of time where there will be peace between all the people of the world? A state of paradise on earth with equality peace and compassion between all the people? Will all the people then be muslims ?

Dear and Beloved Brother in Islam, it is an unanimously accepted notion amongst the believers the absolute best age or ‘golden period’ that was ever experienced by the believers on this earth was during the age or reign of the ‘Khulafah Raashid’ or the Rightly Guided Khalifahs.

But even during this absolutely ‘golden period’, not every human being on the planet earth was a believer or muslim, nor was peace established between all the people of the earth, nor was a state of Paradise on earth with equality, peace and compassion between all the people on the earth was able to be established!

Theoretically peace, equality, compassion, etc. between all the people on earth can only be established if all the forces of evil, oppression, greed, injustice, transgression, ignorance, arrogance, and sin were wiped out, and every single person on the earth were to sincerely fear Allah and the Last Day, and devoutly obey and follow the clear guidance of Allah and His Messenger (saws)!  Then and only then can this elusive concept of peace, equality, compassion, etc. between all peoples be established!  But that would then be the life of bliss and happiness and peace that one can only experience in Paradise!

But the truth of the nature of creation of this life is that the All-Knowing, All-Wise Lord Creator created good and evil, and life and death on this earth only as a test to see who amongst mankind, from his bestowed intelligence and of his own free will, chooses good and who amongst them chooses evil.

Allah says in the Holy Quran in Chapter 67 Surah Al Mulk verse 2: He (Allah) created death and life that He may test you, to see which of you is the best in deeds.

The obvious question would be: ‘why would Allah Subhanah create evil’??  It is the very condition of determining who passes or fails a given test is that one be given the option to choose between the right and the wrong answers; for only then can the successful be differentiated from the failures!  If only good was created and established (as it will be in the Eternal life in Paradise), and all evil is wiped out…there is absolutely no way to determine who passed the test and who failed it!

Thus the life one longs where there will be peace between all peoples, where a true sense of contentment, peace, compassion, love and mercy will be established between all peoples, where every person will be a believer, etc. can only be experienced by the righteous who pass the test of this worldly life in the eternal and everlasting life of bliss in the Hereafter.

It is the Will and the Decree of the Lord Most High that the forces of good and the forces of evil will co-exist together for the period of test of this short and transitory life on this earth!

Your Question: And last, is imam mahdi and Isa Masi the one and same person ?
Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 6278        Narrated by Ja'far  as-Sadiq

Allah's Messenger (saws) said, "How can an Ummah perish of which I am the first, the Mahdi the middle and the Messiah (Christ Jesus (a.s.), son of Mary) the last? But in the course of that there will be a crooked party which does not belong to me and to which I do not belong."

Sahih Muslim Hadith 6924     Narrated by Abu Hurayrah

Allah's Messenger (saws) said: ‘The Last Hour will not come until the Romans (Christians) land at al-A'maq or in Dabiq.  An army consisting of the best (soldiers) of the people on Earth (led by Imam Mahdi (a.s.)) at that time will come from Medina (to oppose them).  When they arrange themselves in ranks, the Romans will say: ‘Do not stand between us and those (Muslims) who took prisoners from among us. Let us fight them.’ The Muslims will say: ‘Nay, by Allah, we shall never turn aside from you and from our brethren so that you may fight them.’  They will then fight and a third of the (muslim) army, whom Allah will never forgive, will run away. A third (part of the muslim army), which will be constituted of excellent martyrs in Allah's eyes, would be killed. The third who will never be put on trial will win and they will be the conquerors of Constantinople.  As they are busy in distributing the spoils of war (amongst themselves) after hanging their swords by the olive trees, the Shaytaan will cry: ‘The Dajjal has taken your place among your families!’ They will then come out, but it will be of no avail. When they reach Syria, he will come out while they are still preparing themselves for battle, drawing up the ranks.  Certainly, the time of prayer will come and then Jesus (a.s.), son of Mary, will descend and lead them in prayer. When the enemy of Allah see him, it will (disappear) just as salt dissolves in water and if he (Jesus) were not to confront them at all, even then it would dissolve completely. Allah would kill them by his hand and he would show them their blood on his lance (the lance of Jesus Christ (a.s.)).’

Sahih Muslim Hadith 7015 (part)      Narrated by An-Nawwas ibn Sam'an

The Messenger of Allah (saws) said:  ‘The Prophet Isa (a.s.), son of Mary will descend at the white minaret on the eastern side of Damascus (Syria), wearing two garments lightly dyed with saffron, and placing his hands on the wings of two Angels.’

In light of the prophecies which the Messenger of Allah (saws) narrated in Truth, it is evident that Imam Mahdi (a.s.) and Prophet Isa (a.s.) will be two different and distinct people.  Imam Mahdi (a.s.) will be born amongst the believers and will raise up in ranks to chosen as the leader and commander of the believers.  When the atrocities and trials spread on the earth by the evil anti-Christ and Liar Ad-Dajjal will be at its height, Allah Subhanah will send Prophet Isa (a.s.) to the earth, and he (a.s.) will descend from the heavens to the earth in Damascus, Syria, and will subsequently kill the Dajjal and establish a just kingdom on this earth.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
