Dear brother Burhan
Can one borrow money from someone who earns from unlawful sources?

Answer:

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

There is no restrictions from borrowing from one who you think or assume earns from unlawful means. The onus of the sin is on the earner and you will not be asked from where he earned his money. As long as there is no interest transaction between you there should be no problem. We are commanded not to judge others, and one does not usually ask the lender from where he earned his money. Most times what we assume and hear is not true.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
