Dear Burhan, Please mind your own business, yes i know one day u will forget your mother and father who brought you in this beautiful world which is created by almighty god. you are forgetting one thing, and giving all your `bakwas` on shrik there is always a leader in every field, captain of all teams who guides you the right way and stop you from doing wrong thing and if this is shrik in your language , then i should tell all your staff and workers not to listen to you, or not to follow on your order cause they are becoming shirk and making you allah by following your order. You should stop respecting your elders, respecting your mother because bowing in front of your parents or doing what your parents say is shrik in your language. u r the most shirk to my knowledge, because u r stopping us to listen or do what our ancestors told us, but u r doing it. Think before u write, u r still kid , only all shirk people are telling u to do all this things and write all bakwas . and by writing this u r becoming shirk because u should only write what quran says, but `afsos` u r writing what all your `chamchas` or `fools` or so called `thekedars` of islam are telling u to write. If u r of your word and if u think u r right then leave all business and go to himalayas where u dont have to give any orders or take any orders otherwise u r biggest `liar` on the earth and biggest `shirk` please become `sanyasi` instead of `shirk` u r `iblis` of adam era, u r `yazid` of Husain (a.s.) era, people like u do not have any place on this earth u r `bal thackrey` of this era. Please go to himalaya and leave us alone, and do justice to your words. Good bye,all the best, waiting to hear the news of u leaving all and going to himalaya.

Who is your leader & what is shirk?

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and who-ever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

May Allah bless you and reward you for the time and effort you have taken to write to us.  We do appreciate and respect your opinion, and understand and comprehend your point of view.   It maybe that what we have written from the Holy Quran, might be against what you believe and are following, which has compelled you to write this answer to us.

You are absolutely right in saying that every team should have a captain, and in every field there is a leader!   We bear witness that our only leader is the Last Messenger of Allah, Mohamed ar-Rasool Allah (saws).   Allah Himself appointed him as a Mercy and guide to all mankind until the end of time!  Other than Prophet Mohamed (saws), there can absolutely no leader in Islam, whom we are allowed to follow blindly, or obey him without any evidence from the Glorious Quran.  Every other leader and captain is self-appointed by us, and we should only follow and obey them, as long as they follow Allah and His Messenger (saws).  No leader has the authority to change or alter in any way, any commandment of Allah and His Messenger (saws); and if any self-appointed leader does so, he is not to be obeyed!   If indeed we sincerely believe in Allah and the Last Day, we are commanded to unconditionally obey only Allah and His Messenger (saws), and no one else!

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 33 Surah Ahzab verse 66-68: On the Day their faces are rolled about on the Fire, they will say, “Would that we had obeyed Allah and His Messenger!”  And they will say, “O our Lord, we obeyed our CHIEFS and our GREAT MEN, and they led us astray from the Right Path.   O our Lord, give them a double chastisement and curse them severely”.

Regarding your opinion and comment that obeying our parents and our elders is ‘shirk’, I would humbly like to point out that the meaning of ‘shirk’ as stated in the Quran is completely different.   ‘Shirk’ is associating another being or thing with Allah, in His Self, in His Noble Attributes, and in His Rights of Worship.

For example: We believe that Allah Subhanah is ‘Al-Samee’ (The All Hearing) and ‘Al-Aleem’ (The All Knowing).  Thus if we hold this ‘imaan’ that some leader or pious person, or even the dead person in his grave, can hear everything and knows everything, then we putting this human being at par with Allah’s Noble Attributes!   This would be considered ‘shirk’ in Islam!

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 7 Surah Aaraf verse 190-196:They associate with Allah partners who do not create anything, but are themselves created!  Who cannot help them nor have the power to help themselves!   If you invite them to follow the Right Way, they will not follow you!  It will be all the same for you whether you call them or keep silent. Those whom you invoke with Allah are MERE SERVANTS OF ALLAH LIKE YOU!  Just invoke them, and if what you say of them be true, they will answer your prayers!   Have they feet that they should walk with them?   Or have they hands that they should hold with them?   Or have they eyes that they should see with them?   Or have they ears that they should hear with them?  Tell them, “Call up the partners you have set up, and then all of you sit down together and plot against me, and give me no respite.  My Protector and Helper is Allah, Who has sent down this Book (Al Quran), and, it is He who protects the righteous people.”

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 16 Surah Nahl verse 20-21: All the other beings, whom the people invoke with Allah, create nothing! Nay, they are themselves created. They are DEAD, not living, and they do not at all know themselves when they shall again be raised to life!

Another example of shirk is if we share the Right of Worship that is due to Allah Alone with anybody else!  If one does the act of Islamic ‘sajdah’ (bowing down where the knees, hands and foreheads touch the ground) to anybody else, be it his self-appointed leader, be it the graves of his pious holy men, or be it anything else; then he is sharing the Right of Worship of Allah with another being. This is considered one of the biggest ‘shirk’ in Islam!  Sajdah is due to our Creator Alone, who created the heavens and the earth and everything in between and absolutely no one else!

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 41 Surah Fusselat verse 37: Do not do ‘sajdah’ to the sun and the moon, but do ‘sajdah’ to that Allah, Who Created them, if you really are indeed His worshippers.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 22 Surah Hajj verse 77: O you who believe, do ‘rukoo’ and ‘sajdah’ to Allah Alone,  worship Allah Alone,  and do righteous deeds.  It may be that you attain true success.

Your Comment: because u r stopping us to listen or do what our ancestors told us.

Subhan Allah, you have said exactly what the people who committed shirk told their Prophets, as related by Allah in the Holy Quran.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 11 Surah Hud verses 61-62: And to Thamud We sent their brother Salih.  He said, “O my people!  Worship Allah Alone, you have no other deity than He.   It is He Who has created you from the earth and made it a living place for you.  So ask His forgiveness and turn to Him Alone in repentance.   Most surely my Lord is near at hand and answers prayers.”

They (his people) replied, “O Salih, till now you were such a person among us, of whom we had great expectations.   What!  Do you forbid us to worship those whom our forefathers worshipped?  Indeed, we have a strong doubt about the way to which you are calling us, and this has caused a feeling of distraction in us.”

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 170-171: When it is said to them, “Follow the Commands that Allah has sent down”, they reply, “We will follow only what we found our forefathers practicing.”  Well, will they go on following their forefathers even though they did not use common sense and did not find the Right Way!  The mental condition of those who rejected the way of Allah may be likened to that of the cattle whom the shepherd calls but they nothing except the sound of shouts and cries.   They are deaf, they are dumb, they are blind; therefore they do not understand anything.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 21 Surah Anbiyaa verse 52-54: Recall to mind the occasion when Ibrahim said to his father and his people, “What are these images to which you are so devoted?”  They replied, “We found our forefathers worshipping them.”  Ibrahim said, “You have gone astray and so had your forefathers manifestly deviated from the Right Way.”

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 31 Surah Luqman verse 21: And when it is said to them, “Follow what Allah has sent down”, they say, “We shall only follow that upon which we found our forefathers.”   What!  Will they still be following them even if Shaitaan had been calling them to the raging Fire?

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 34 Surah Saba verse 43: When Our clear Revelations are recited to these people, they say,  “This person only wants to turn you away from those deities whom your forefathers have been worshipping.”

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 43 Surah Zukhruf verse 22-25: Nay!  But they say, “We found our forefathers on a way and we are only walking in their footsteps.”  Even so, whenever before you We sent a warner to a habitation, its people of means said, “We have found our forefathers on a way and we are only following in their footsteps.”   Every Prophet asked them, “Will you still go on following the same old way even if I guide you to a more right way than that you found your forefathers following?”   They replied, “We disbelieve the religion with which you have been sent.”  Consequently, We took vengeance on them.  Just consider what was the end of those who denied.

Thus my beloved brother, if your only evidence to follow your deen is following the footsteps of your forefathers, or because you were born in this household, then you must read the above commandments of the Glorious Quran very carefully, and weigh your ‘imaan’ very sincerely.   Please bear in mind that ‘shirk’ is such a heinous sin, that Allah has promised Himself that He will never forgive the one who dies while in the state of ‘shirk’.

Allah says in the Quran: Chapter 4 Surah An-Nisa Verse 48: Shirk (associating other deities with Allah) is the only sin that Allah does not forgive, and He forgives, whomsoever He pleases, sins other than this.  For whosoever associates any other partner with Allah, does indeed forge a big lie and commits the most heinous sin

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 5 Surah Maidah verse 72: Whoever commits ‘shirk’ (invoking anything with Allah), Allah shall forbid for him Paradise, and Hell shall be his abode.  And for such wrong doers there will be no one to help.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 39 Surah Zumar verse 65-66: If you commit ‘shirk’ all your works will be rendered vain and you will be among the losers.  Therefore, you should worship Allah Alone, and be among His grateful servants.

And if you sincerely think that we have misunderstood the concept of ‘shirk’ as stated in the Glorious Quran, why don’t you give us some evidence from the Glorious Quran in support of your belief?   Just give us one aayah in support of your concept of ‘shirk’ from the 6000 odd aayahs of the Holy Quran, if indeed what you say is the Truth!

And regarding your conclusion and judgment that we should take ‘sanyaas’ and live like monks in the Himalayas; brother, I would like to tell you that in light of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (saws), this is absolutely against the principles of Islam. This concept was created by the Christians and the polytheists, who erroneously believed that living in monasteries and in isolation, and away from the world in totality would bring them closer to Allah.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 57 Surah Hadid verse 27: After them We sent Our Messengers, one after the other, and followed them up with Jesus, son of Mary, and gave him the Gospel, and We put in the hearts of those who followed Jesus, compassion and mercy, but monasticism (the act to leave the world and take refuge in jungles and mountains or cells) they invented themselves!   We did not prescribe it for them; they invented it themselves in order to seeks Allah’s goodwill.

Thus my beloved brother, we are only inviting you to the Truth of the Holy Quran, and always giving evidence for our beliefs from the clear aayahs of this Glorious Book.   If you sincerely believe that what you follow is indeed the Truth, then it would only be fair and right, that you too give evidence for your views from the Glorious Quran.   The Holy Quran is indeed the absolute Truth and the very words of our Lord and creator, Allah Subhanah.

May Allah guide you and us all to the Siraat al Mustaqeem.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
